Location: 1824 Sundance Dr., Longmont, Colorado
We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, time to reflect, time for gratitude, time for simple prayers for a better future for all the world…
Charles Osgood shared in a 1998 Thanksgiving message on CBS Sunday Morning, “Americans have much to be grateful for, particularly their loved ones, and should be thankful not just for what is on the table for Thanksgiving, but especially for the people seated around it.” He noted that while Americans may have worries and things to be critical or angry about, they have just as much to be pleased and hopeful about. Osgood reminded listeners that in a world with many lonely people, those with family and friends are the lucky ones.
We experienced this blessing of friends and great food at our 1st SOSSAS Salon on November 12th. We had a beautiful gathering of those who had taken classes with SOSSAS and participants from our Pints & Perspectives series. It was a wonderful time to get to know each other in a casual and beautiful social environment. I believe the social connections provide a sense of belonging and are truly a gift to everyone who attended. We enjoyed a delicious meal and a beautiful variety of appetizers and desserts, contributions from everyone and an exchange of recipes. The training from Carol Setters ‘Clean Talk’ was valuable and informative, especially as we worked in small groups to practice and role play communication in difficult situations.
We are having our 2nd SOSSAS Salon on Monday, December 15th, 6 to 8 PM at our home, 1824 Sundance Dr. in Longmont. In the spirit of the season, our second SOSSAS Salon will focus on our personal gifts, recognizing the gifts of others, and how we can help those less fortunate recognize and bring their gifts to the center. What a setting we create when people can perceive and leverage their gifts for the good of others.
Please bring an appetizer or dessert and RSVP to Carol at 303-517-2583. Texts are encouraged.
